A Facility Card sounds great, right?
The Facility Card sounds pretty great, right? Well, it is! But not just anyone can get them, otherwise it wouldn’t actually help equalize anything for guests with disabilities, as the Premier Access lines would be the new “regular” lines. So, you won’t be able to just walk up to any random Cast Member and ask to be given a Facility Card. Instead, you have to apply for one with the correct documentation. It is REALLY important to have the right documents, and originals of the documents. Because even if you do qualify for a Facility Card, if you don’t have the correct document, you aren’t going to be getting a card. So, it is best to plan ahead to avoid disappointment. According to Disneyland Paris, you will need the following documentation:
Long Term Illness List
Here is the list of long term illnesses that are accepted by Disneyland Paris, at least at the time of writing. Don’t forget to check the offical website to make sure you qualify.
How it is done
So, if you have the correct documentation, bring along the original so that you can qualify for a Facility Card. In order to be granted your Facility Card, you will have to apply at one of three places: the dedicated desk at the entrance to the Disney Park, the designated desk at the entrance to the Studios Park, or the reception desk at a Disney hotel (if you are staying there as a guest). You can ask one of the Cast Members at the entrance to the Parks to direct you to the correct desk. You used to have to apply for this card at City Hall (in Disney Park), Studio Services (in Studios Park), or the reception desk at a Disney hotel (if you are staying there as a guest), but this has now changed. You can apply for the Facility Card on the first (or only) day that you visit the Parks. It is not possible, as lovely as it would be, to get this card in advance of your trip.
Numbers
The Facility Card allows for up to four additional people to accompany the card holder on the attractions/rides. It should go without saying, but I’m saying it anyway, that unless the card holder is present, the accompanying people are not allowed access to the reservation. It also does not allow for any privileges for shows or spectacles (that is, you aren’t able to access the reserved seating areas for parades or fireworks shows with this card).
