Why don’t they make all the resturaunts ‘quick service?’

Moving on to the quick-service restaurants.

This is just what they are called. It isn’t a comment on the speed of their service, unfortunately.

These restaurants have something to recommend them to those of us who have a Priority Card. The fact that we can use them at the restaurants. How does this work, you may ask? Good question! When you enter a restaurant, there will typically be a line/queue from the door to the cash registers. In front of each open cash register there will be a smaller line. There is usually a Cast Member at the head of the longer line, who will direct you to one of the smaller lines. This Cast Member is your friend.

When you enter a restaurant, you should go and talk to this Cast Member. You can show them your priority card, and ask for what you need. Sometimes this will be priority in queueing, so the Cast Member will then direct you to the shorter lines in front of the cash registers. Typically, you are not permitted to sit down and ‘save’ a table or seating area until you have purchased your food. However, with the Priority Card, you may be able to sit and wait while another member of your party purchases food. Once you show your Priority Card, of course.

Sitting is… good.

These restaurants, then, have much to commend themselves to us. The ability to sit down to eat is a benefit.

Though you can also take the food to go, if you would like to visit a place of sanity. Unlike food stalls, restaurants are large, having many Cast Members toiling away behind the curtain to provide us with food. This means that, despite occasionally having long lines, they are quite reliable in getting food out to us quickly. With one exception.

That exception is if we want to order off-menu. And by off-menu, I mean anything that is slightly different from the fare on offer. This isn’t to say that these restaurants can’t make us slightly different food, it is just that it will take longer. For example, we tried to order a plain hamburger at the Hyperion Café, and, while we were able to, it was an extra 20-minute wait. We ordered nuggets. So, just be aware that custom orders may take a bit longer to prepare, so plan accordingly.
