We spent a lot of time earlier figuring out how not to be near parades. Now we’re doing the reverse of that.
Which, honestly, is quite a bit easier, since we just have to pick a spot along the parade route and stick with it.
But let’s not pick the wrong spot. You know the dark blue area that we talked about in the part with the fireworks shows? This one here?
This terrible map keeps showing up, doesn’t it?
Yeah, that’s still the wrong spot. Don’t go there.
Why, you may rightly ask? Well, it is because the plaza is designed as the meeting point for all of the different lands, making it the place that everyone else will want to come to as well!
Instead, let’s take another look at the parade route:
The places that you are going to want to be at to see the parade are at the Northernmost* and Southernmost points of the route.
Northernmost point not pictured, becuase I can’t figure out this whole website thing.
It turns out that a lot of people want to watch the parades.
The Southernmost point of the route is where the parade ends as it leaves the main square. While there are guests who stop and watch the parade here, most of the guests in this area are transitioning through, moving from the Disney Park to the Studios Park, or vice versa. As a result, there are usually places that you will be able to view the parade from with little trouble.
However, because of all of the guests transitioning through that area, it is still pretty busy. So, it isn’t going to be our gold standard of parade viewing points. No, that spot is reserved for the Northermost point on the parade route. Located outside of the Pizzaria Bella Notte, this area offers a lot of great viewing areas relative to the fewer guests that are near here. Admittedly, it does fill up more during the Stars on Parade… parade, as this is where that parade starts. However, the corridor leading from the start of the parade to the Main Plaza remains a reliable location for excellent parade watching.
